Alabaster Lighting

Alabaster lighting is made from a soft, translucent stone called gypsum. It has a natural, warm glow with subtle veining, giving each piece a unique look. It's often used in luxury pendants, sconces, and ceiling lights.

Real alabaster is a natural stone, typically white or cream with cloudy patterns. Some lights use faux alabaster made from resin to mimic the look at a lower cost. Real alabaster feels cooler to the touch and has more irregular veining.

Alabaster softens and diffuses light, which creates a warm, ambient effect. It’s great for mood lighting but not ideal for bright task areas like desks or vanities.

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Avoid water, harsh cleaners, or chemicals, as alabaster is porous and can stain or yellow over time. Keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Alabaster is softer than other stones and can scratch or chip if mishandled. It's best for low-touch areas like ceiling fixtures or wall sconces. Avoid high-humidity zones and always handle with care during installation.

It’s not ideal for bathrooms unless it's installed in a dry zone, away from steam and water. Moisture can damage or discolor the stone over time. If used, ensure the area is well-ventilated.
